Uzeyir Hajibeyov Google Doodle portraits ‘The Cloth Peddler’ on 128th Birthday

Uzeyir Hajibeyov Google Doodle published on his 128th Birthday on Azerbaijan. It’s on September 18th, the doodle welcomed viewers in Google homepage. Uzeyir was well known composer, writer, teacher, conductor and publicist of his time.

Uzeyir Hajibeyov Google Doodle included images from his famous Opera play ‘ The Cloth Peddler’. Each Google logo character is replaced by parts from his play. It was in 1917 ‘ The Cloth Peddler’ released. Film was a full length comedy entertainer. Every alphabet in the logo have something to tell about The Cloth Peddler and its writer.

Google doodle included main characters and theme of the story in it. Uzeyir Hajibeyov was known as the father of Azarbhaijani classical music. Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the first Opera music composer of Islamic world is known for his skill and talents.

The style of works which merges traditional with western style was unique, it made his works gather fame in less time. Leyli and Majnu in 1908 is his first opera composing. It’s during 1900 and 1940, most of Hajibeyov’s works got birth. Uzeyir Hajibeyov’s works did not sticked on to a specific theme, he worked on different themes and topic through out the life time.

Concept of introducing professional music school was one major step that he took, this became a mile stone in his music life. Baku Academy of Music was named to Hajibeyov Baku Academy of music in his honor. Apart from this he worked for women up gradation in male dominated world. Hajibeyov was editor in chief of Azerbaijan newspaper, the prominent governmental media of Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan.

Hajibeyov had a keen political view and joined communist party, worked for it as Supreme Soviet of Soviet Union. Many publications including his works were out during 1920’s. National Bank of Azerbaijan dedicated a 100 manat gold coin in his honor in 2008.  He died at the age of 63 due to diabetes.
