Sarojini Naidu’s 135th birthday Google Doodle

Google will publish Sarojini Naidu’s 135th birthday Doodle on the homepage of India on 13th February, 2014. She was known as ‘The nightingale of India’, the first female president of Indian National Congress, also worked as a poet and first female governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Sarojini Naidu had great interest in poetry from the childhood days itself. In 1905 she published a collection of ¬†poems entitled ‘Golden threshold’. Jawaharlal Nehru and Rabindranath Tagore admired her many works and Gopal Krishna Gokhale advised her to use language power for inspire people for making a free India.

Sarojini Naidu travelled acrossss India for enlightening womens for fight for making a free India, after her meeting with Mahatma Gandhi. In 1925 Sarojini Naidu was elected as the first female president of Indian National Congress.
