Polish poet Juliusz Slowacki gets a Google Doodle on 205th Birthday

Born on September 4, 1809 in Poland, Slowacki played an important role in Polish literature. His works are published in 17 volumes. Slowacki is known as the father of Polish Drams and also one the three Bards of Polish Romantic literature.

Juliusz Slowacki was a prolific writer who raised pen to give colors in different areas of literature. Political brochures, literary criticism, lyrical poems, journals, and dramas; everything includes Slowacki’s works. There are about 250 poems in his name.

Kordian and Balladyna are best dramas in Polish literature wrote by Juliusz Slowacki. Romance, Orientalism, Polish History and Polish mythology have been themes for his works. Many new authors inspired by his works adopted his style of writings; Slowacki’s were translated and published in different languages.

Juliusz Slowacki died on 3rd April 1849 at the age of 39. Though he lived only for 40 years, Slowachi’s works reflect the life of Polish literature for decades. He was one among the most notable writers ever lived in Poland. Considering his great efforts and dedication for Poland and Polish literature, honors, recognitions and awards were given to him during life time and after death.
