Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov’s 170th Birthday Google Doodle

The master of Orchestration, Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov, born on 18 March 1844 honored with a Google Doodle on Russia. It’s on 170th Birthday of Korsakov, Google published this doodle with ‘The snow Maiden’.

Google Doodle for Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov depicts the composer itself along with image from one of it’s famous Opera play ” The snow Maiden’. In the play themed in doodle, composed with seasonal calender songs with have the essence of folk traditional ceremonial dances, Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov talents got huge acceptence.

Doodlers managed to give a different style in the presentation of Doodle in Russian homepage. It’s the alphabet ‘g’ replaced with the image of Korsakav in Google Doodle.

Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov was well known as the member of famous music composers group formed in Russia ‘The Five’. The kind of music they composed during 1870’s were very famous in Russia. Mainly, this group of composers concentrated on Russian music, specifically digging the core of Russian musical culture.

There were many artist in Russia, attracted by these composers special kind of music. Igor Stravinsky, composer know for the composition of ‘FireBird’ was the student Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov. Google have already came up with a doodle for Igor in 2009. There are many other composers who followed these group including Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov in Russia.

Rimsky Korsakov have composed many opera works and orchestrations, attracted world audience during his life time. More than 250 students who learned basic of music composition under his teaching. It include many prominent composers of Russia and also his own son.

Rimsky Korsakov have also wrote many books related to music during his life time. His autobiography, translated in English is also the one which reflects his passion for music. Korsakov died on 21 June 1908. As a honor for Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov works, today,museums including items reflecting his life and work are established in many places.
