The competition so called Doodle 4 Google is a great step taken by Google to bring out talents in students. Now Google has extended the competition to many countries as its starting was only in UK.

Each year Google conduct this Doodle 4 Google competition and the prize winning doodle is published on the corresponding homepage. As we know Google is the popular search engine used by many people whole around the world. While conducting such a mega event the popularity and expectations of this competition were also high. Now its popularity of this competition has increased that much we can say that it will add another feather to Google’s cap.

The above Google doodle is designed by a 13 year old schoolgirl from Trowbridge known as Katherine Chisnall. She won the national wise competition conducted in UK. The theme for the competition was Doodle 4 Google ­ My Britain competition and the girl designed 5 wonders of UK in a single doodle and won the prize. “As well as winning the opportunity to have her work seen by 20 million people, Katherine has won a trip to Google¹s HQ — the Googleplex in San Francisco — to work with Dennis Hwang, Google¹s webmaster and original doodler. She has also won a laptop for herself, and a state of the art Hitachi interactive whiteboard for her school, St Augustine¹s RC School”

Google also offers another education package for top 2000 doodles. By analysis those doodles 45% drew monuments and historical figures ­and other 3% figured celebrities. Union Jack is used by 52% and 33% included Big Ben. 315 students featured the monarchy and the sterling currency was drawn by 5%. Shakespeare was the most famous in the competition after the queen and depicted by 1% participants. Another popular doodles contains 0.4% Harry potter and 0.3% for James Bond.

The Doodle 4 Google competition is judged based on the following steps. First the works by students are graded in to different category. From this categories 250 state finalists are selected for each state. From this 250 state finalists 50 state winners are selected. Then final 5 national finalists will be selected after people’s poll. From this a single national winner is selected.

Prizes will be granted for all the top 250 students selected. Students those are good in their artistic show (drawing) Google is giving an opportunity to show their talent to the world. The rules and regulations are simple to follow. The next year’s Doodle 4 Google will be kickoff from January 2014.
