Vietnam Mid Autumn Festival 2014 Marked with Google Doodle

Today’s Google Doodle in Vietnam marks Mid Autumn Festival 2014. September 8th is the date of celebration, its the 15th day of eight month in Vietnamese Calendar.

Tết Trung Thu or the Children’s Festival is the other names known for Mid Autumn Festival in Vietnam. Google Doodle include children playing under the bright moon on the day. Lighting lanterns of different colors and shapes are common tradition followed for the day. Google logo alphabets are also included in the doodle in a different style.

Tết Trung Thu, the mid autumn festival is celebrated in other countries too, but with different names and traditions. Moon Festival, Harvest Festival, Chuseok are the other names known for the festival. Korean Thanksgiving day also coincide with Tết Trung Thu celebrations. Google today is celebrating all these festivals with Doodles.

You can see Korean Thanksgiving Day Google Doodle with big round moon in Google Korean Homepage today, also Mid Autumn Festival including Jade Rabbit living inside moon is depicted in different two doodles in homepage of China, Japan and some other countries on September 8th, 2014.

It is the season of celebrations for all those places which celebrates this harvest festivals. Moon is highlighted in every rituals for the day. Praying to moon, feasting at night outside home at night, making moon cakes, dancing under the light of moon, giving offerings to moon  are main customs for the day. Google Doodles also include moon in it to mark the specialty of the day.

Google’s famous logo change known as doodle to mark special occasions is now gaining popularity. Million of Google users will see these doodle for Mid Autumn Festival today.
