Android 4.1 jelly bean is the latest version of OS; it is the smoothest and fastest mobile OS ever. But the newer version still in low stage. One of the main reasons behind this is now most of devices coming out with android 4.0 ice cream sandwich. This version of android gathered 30% in platform distribution.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread is one of the older versions of Android it released in 2010 but still it is the most popular used android version. It is ruled out through 58% of distribution. Before the release of ICS it is more than 62%. ICS updating made a little change in the graph.

Ginger bread version is smoother and advanced mobile OS. The users who currently using this version do not upgrade to latest ones because of its simplicity and performance. Most of the pones running on android 2.3 gingerbread will get slow upon the upgrade for new android also reason for this dominance.
