The birth of Gmail
It a fact that the mailing services before Gmail couldn’t satisfies the need of customers at its perfection. Such services fail to provide better performance and rich storage space. So one of the Google users complained to the company about those services. Once the co-founder of Google Larry Page himself recalled his memory about this incident. He said “She Kvetched about spending all her time filing messages or trying to find them, and when she is not doing that she has to delete email like crazy to stay under the obligatory four megabyte limit. So she asked can’t you people fix it”.
As Google is a company that completely focused for user satisfaction over internet services they started development process for an effective fast mailing service. A large number of Google engineers worked on that project. As we knew Google gives engineers to spend a day of week on the project they are interested in. After taking continuous effort by Google engineers the Gmail was born, now it is became the best ever mailing service.
“And while developing Gmail was bit more complicated than we anticipated, we are pleased to able to offer it to the users who asked for it” Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google said. On 1st April 2004 Google officially launched Gmail service. A free search based web mail service with affordable storage capacity and speed. The birth of Gmail is one of the milestones within Google history. Today Gmail became the most popular widely used mailing service with more than 425 million users.
