2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney Diving Google Doodle

This doodle is released as a part of  Olympic Games in Sydney Diving competition. Doodle released on September 20, 2000 as a part of Olympic fever. This is one of the doodle in the series of doodle that released by Google on the occasion of Olympic Games in Sydney.

It’s first time in Olympic games that 8 diving events were conducted. This is due to the synchronized variants included for the each of the traditional events. The competition took place during the days between 22nd September and 30th September. The competition is held at the International Aquatic Centre. About 157 divers from 42 nations competed each other in the Olympic Games in Sydney Diving competition.

Now let’s check  Olympic Games in Sydney Diving Google Doodle released on the day 22nd September 2000. Google released a series of doodles during the occasion of Sydney Olympics 2000. In all doodles the ‘Google’ is written by using 5 colors representing 5 continents. The doodle is quite simple and easily conveying the idea that it means.

The letters are written with blue, yellow, black, green and red, which are colors appearing in the Olympic ring. As in all doodles there is a kangaroo which is diving to water from the diving board. This part is conveys the sport for which doodle is dedicated.

There were 4 major categories of events that were held on the Olympic Games in Sydney Diving competition. The events are categorized as 3 meter springboard, 10 meter platform, Synchronized 3 meter springboard, Synchronized 10 meter platform.

In men’s Synchronized 10 meter platform Russia’s Dmitri Sautin and Igor Lukashin won the Gold medal. China’s Hu Jia and Tian Liang and Germany’s Jan Hempel and Heiko Meyer won the Silver and Bronze medal respectively. Now let’s review the women’s events. In women’s events the story was not at all different from men’s. Here also China dominated in medal table.

In women’s 3 meter springboard China’s Fu Mingxia won the Gold medal. China’s Guo Jingjing and Germany’s Dorte Lindner won the Silver and Bronze respectively. In 10 meter platform United States Laura Wilkinson won the Gold medal. China and Canada won the Silver and Bronze medal respectively.

In Synchronized 3 meter springboard Russia, China and Ukraine won the Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. In Synchronized 10 meter platform China, Canada and Australia won the Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. So overall, when analyzing the medal table China dominates the Diving sport in the Olympics Games 2000.
