England’s Patron Saint George’s Day 2014 celebrated by Google Doodle

Google Doodle on 23 April marks England’s Patron St George’s day. Saint George’s Day 2014 Google Doodle  depicts myth behind the saint. Various programs are arranged all over country on the day.

In Google doodle, you can see a black and white image of saint fighting with fire breathing dragon. Image that you can see in doodle one of prominent story that is prevailing in christian community regarding St. George.  Google have published special doodles for St George’s Day in previous years also.

Cappaddocia, a place in modern Turkey is regarded as the birth place of this legend. He was also said to be in Roman Army for years. Only little facts were known about St George as per the history.

St George protested against the Roman’s activity of persecution of Christians. He refused to do so. This made him to beheaded in the year AD 303, as per records. As in England, there are many other countries celebrating April 23 as St George’s Day. It’s 1222, this day is declared as the day dedicated to St George.

Many programs are organized in celebration of St George over England. St George’s Day parade is the best attraction of the day. Lot’s of children, youth and elderly people participate in the parade of the day. Special prayers are organized in churches for celebration of Day.
