Google released this doodle as a part of Olympic Games in Sydney Closing Ceremony. Doodle is released on September 25, 2000. Google were release the doodle for opening ceremony and a series of doodles for each competing events.

As the opening ceremony was described as the most beautiful ceremony, Olympic Games in Sydney Closing Ceremony were also a mind blowing one. Almost 10, 5000 people were attended the ceremony. The Olympiad games have been closed tonight after 16 days of events and games. There was superb coordination work done by 47000 volunteers to feel minimal inconvenience to thousands of daily spectators.

Google doodle released as a part of Olympic Games in Sydney Closing Ceremony really conveys the idea of closing of the big event, the Olympics. It shows that the championship allows the players to establish themselves in international level. 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney Closing Ceremony Google Doodle pictured a kangaroo wearing a Gold medal and this shows the respect towards the champions.

Also by this doodle Google congratulates all champions for their immense performance in respective sporting events. In all Olympic doodles of the year 2000 the ‘Google’ is written by using 5 colors representing 5 continents. . The letters are written with blue, yellow, black, green and red, which are colors appearing in the Olympic ring.

The ceremony started with the Lawnmowers comes to the arena and followed by performers. The ceremonial events started with the song “Island Home” sung by Christine Anu with 37 dancers performing in the background. Next it was the time to parade, for which International Olympic Committee flags were brought in to the arena. Then the flags of all nations arrived and athletes followed by 300 Gold Medalists.

Next was a song “Affirmation” sung by Savage Garden. Next the Australian flag Greek flags had been raised with their national Anthems sung by Millennium Children’s Choir. Sydney (Australia) was the host for 2000 Olympics and Athens (Greece) was decided to host for next Olympics. There were official speeches given by Juan Antonio Samaranch – Pres. of International Olympic Committeeand Michael Knight – President Sydney 20000.

Then there were the presentation from the eight athlete members of the IOC. The members were elected by the athletes that participate in the Olympics. After that the mayor of Athens came for the handover of Olympic flag. The Lord Mayor of Sydney called as Frank Sodder brought the flag, waved it all around towards the audience and handover to the mayor of Athens. After the flag handover Olympic Games 2000 announced to be closed. Next Yvonne Kenny sings the Olympic theme.

The Olympic flag was taken to out of the stadium escorted by 11 members of the Aussie Olympic team. Right after it went out; there was a fly by with an F1-11, which was followed by fireworks at Sydney Harbor Bridge. Next there was the musical feast given by the talented performers. Finally there was a parade with famous Aussies on floats. The ceremony was ended by folding the stage into a giant 8-sided figure that said: “Bye from Oz” and “See ya in Athens”.
