Martin Luther King is the man who fought for equal rights throughout his life time.It was in the memory of MLK, his lifelong works for the society and to make world know who is Martin Luther King,  MLK day is celebrated.In respect to Martin Luther King, Google introduced Martin Luther King Day 2011 doodle .

Google have caame up with MLK Doodle previous years also. The 2011 Google doodle for Martin was designed from the inspiration of his ‘I Have a Dream Speech”

From his famous quote from speech” I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character “its clear that he wanted the black children to enjoy the same rights and freedom which has been enjoyed by the white children.Here in Martin Luther King Day 2011 doodle  we can see children playing in the playground without color distinction.

Martin Luther King Day is a national holiday at United States. US government MLK day programs have great importance. It is observed on 3rd Monday of January  somewhere around Kings birthday.

Martin Luther King was born in 15th January 1929  in Georgia at United States of America. He fought for the civil rights throughout his life time. The time when he was undergoing his studies he started his work for civil rights.

After graduations he became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. During those period he worked unconditionally for the blacks, thus he emerged out as the Negro leader. The bus boycott which lasted for 382 days made him recognized by the whole world. During those time he was arrested, his home was bombed and he was also subjected to personal abuse .

Martin was the youngest man to be awarded a Nobel Prize for peace. His speech ‘I have a Dream’ is really inspirational.  He received the Nobel prize at the age of thirty five.  The legend, was assassinated in April 4th 1968.

By this time he wrote he wrote five books and numerous articles. He took the operational techniques of Gandhiji  to lead his works. The quotes of Martin Luther King have got wide acceptance all across the world.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”. This is what he proved through his life.
