Kenojuak Ashevak was born in an igloo of Canada on 3 October 1927. Ashevak was interested in art and art works from early age itself, she is the first women to start drawing in Inuit Dorset.
Ashevak have thousands of drawings in her name. She also have done stone cut works and beautiful etching works during her life time. In 2004, Ashevak designed stained glass window for John Bell Chapel in Ontario. Her works was famous for its uniqueness and creative skills.
Kenojuak Ashevak was made a Officier of Order of Canada in 1962.Ashevak also received doctorate from Queen’s University and University of Toronto. Kenojuak Ashevak have designed stamps and coins of Canada. Many other honors and awards was given for her considering contributions to Canadian culture.
Kenojuak Ashevak was died on 8 January 2013. Ashevak would have been 87 if she was alive. Creating a doodle in tribute to her on 87th Birthday, Google honored Kenojuak Ashevak.
