Google’s 8th Birthday Doodle

Google, the name gained popularity among the techies and non – techies due to its service and simplicity. After the birth of Google there began the journey of new search engine giant which is going to rule over the internet world.

As a part of Google’s 8th Birthday doodle is appeared on the home page of Google. In this doodle the 1st ‘o’ is replaced with the cake, which is decorated using graffiti, cherry and candles. The five candles have the same color as the letters in Google logo in Google Doodle.

Then the ‘g’ in Google logo is replaced with ‘8’ indicating that Google now celebrates its 8th birthday. Google released special doodles every year as a part of Google’s birthday.

The giant search engine registered the domain google.com on September 15, 1997. Within one year it grew as a multinational company known as ‘Google Inc.’ As Google always tries to keep up certain quality of service to its for millions of internet users it is established as the real giants among some short – term giants. Some of the famous services are Gmail, Drive, maps, Google Chrome etc.

The starting is from 2 Stanford university students were doing their research project on backlinks of sites. These 2 students are the co – founders of Google Inc. Larry page and Sergey Brin.  The project was to make an online library for Stanford University and it is realized by the name ‘BackRub’. The Project deals with the development of enabling technologies for a single, integrated and universal digital library for Stanford University.

Initially the site was hosted as Stanford University’s home page by the hosting name “google.stanford.edu” and later it and is changed to domain ‘google.com’ on September 15, 1997.

Within one year the site gain tremendous popularity with almost 60 million indexed pages. As a starting age it was a terrible achievement and the Google’s search results are better than any other search engine.

The popularity and users are increased day by day and its simplicity in design attracted many internet users. At early days Google was opposite to giving ads in site as it increases the loading time. But later they changed their mind and started giving simple text ads in their site.

After this huge success many financial and software clubbing are done by Google with other famous multinational corporations like Microsoft. By the time of 2004 the company had got great financial and service popularity given by users.

The success mantra of Google is as ‘Don’t to be evil’, do anything in straight way. They mentions that “We believe strongly that in the long term, we will be better served—as shareholders and in all other ways—by a company that does good things for the world even if we forgo some short term gains.”
