Google Halloween 2002 Doodle

The origin of Halloween festival is from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Halloween is celebrated in western countries on October 31. The celebration is mostly observed to celebrate in some western countries as a feast for western Christian saints.

Halloween is also known as All Hollow’s Eve or Halloween Eve. On the occasion of this Halloween Eve 2002 Google released the doodle ‘Halloween 2002’. There are some typical customs or special activities that are performed as a part of this celebration. The interesting activities like guising (tick – or- treating), lighting bonfires, going haunted attractions , going costume parties, making jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins, watching horror films and telling horror stories  are performed during this occasion.

Halloween is filled with child-friendly activities that mentioned earlier (tick – or- treating) and is usually celebrated as a secular community based event. The special doodle is released on October 31, 2002 by Google as a part of Halloween festival. While we look through the doodle there is jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins which is the central attraction of Google Halloween 2002 Doodle . The logo itself is pictured as rooted or attached to the mud. The 2nd ‘o’ in Google Doodle is replaced with a making jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins. Making such making jack-o’-lanterns are one of the special custom of Halloween.

There is a Haunted House pictured beside the Google Halloween 2002 Doodle. Halloween is a holiday which is celebrated with full of mystery, magic and superstition.

It is believed that the beginning of the cold dark night, the end of summer and the harvest as the symbol of death. They also had the belief that during the night the boundary between death and living disappears and the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.

So in order to create the mood of that mystery and cold night the Haunted house and flying bats are included in doodle. To make the feel of the evening before the Hollow’s day the doodle contains the moon and it is clear that there is full of darkness that spread all over there. So Google Halloween 2002 Doodle narrates the traditional believes behind the Halloween festival.
