Winning doodle of Doodle 4 Google 2014 competition Hong Kong is now on homepage of search giant. sChiu-yung , 17 year old girl is the winner of Google Doodle drawing competition this year.
Millions of Google users will view the logo designed by Chiu-yung on 14 July 2014. Theme of the competition on Hong Kong was ‘If i were a green Hero’. Google doodle you could see on the homepage goes perfectly in sync with title of competition. Nature, greenery and water makes doodle beautiful.
Logo letter is wrote with green leafs and small reddish pink flowers. Inclusion of two hands and water flowing from tree replacing alphabet o and e in the doodle highlights importance of water in making earth green. Chiu-yung is from Pok Oi Hospital Tang Pui King Memorial College.
Though doodle drawing competition conducting for students started seven years before in US it was the first time D4G competition held in HongKong. For the competition in Hong Kong 3500 entries came and after the final judgement by expert committee Chiu-yung selected as winner.
Green Monday co-founder David Yeung was one of the judge of competition conducted in Hong Kong. He said ” Wong’s Doodles expressed theme emphasizing the importance of water nourishing earth”. He also added that Wong’s doodle is spaced with lots of artistic details. Ryan Germick, Prudence Mak are the other judges in the committee.
Winner Chiu-yung was selected after judging criteria’s :the artistic skill, how doodle communicate theme and creativity of young doodler. Winner Chiu-yung was given many prize along with Echo trip to Singapore.
Doodle 4 Google competition to express the artistic skill and creativity of students always had great acceptance around the world. Hong Kong also welcomed it with great response.
