Though Google have published many Olympics, it was in the year Google have gone interactive with their doodle. During Opening ceremony on 27th July 2012 of London Olympic Games Google published a doodle to announce the start of Olympics.

It was on 7th August 2012, the first interactive doodle of the Olympic series came on Google homepage landed globally. Doodles of Hurdles 2012 was a playable one. Users can click on the play button and start the race through the track using left, right and top arrow keys. In the end of the Google doodle when the finishing line is reached, time taken is shown.

BasketBall Google Doodle for London Olympics 2012 was also interactive one. Doodle included the timer and set of balls were given one after other to put in the basket. It’s with use of space button users played the game. Starts were given to the players checking out the points. This was one among the interactive doodles from Google. Children’s as well as aged people spend some of their googling time with this doodle.

After the doodle for BasketBall, the third doodle on Google homepage appeared for Slalom Canoe 2012 on 8th August. Playing of the Slalom doodle was just like the hurdles using arrows keys. Speed is increased for the movement of boat when the frequency in the key pressing got increased. As in the hurdles doodle when the finishing point is reached, time taken is published. Live atmosphere is presented in the Google homepage with the doodle.

The final interactive doodle on the season was for football. It was on 10th August, the competition took place in the season. Movements of the goal keeper for the doodle is controlled with the arrow keys. Score and starts are given according to the performance of the player at the end. With the football doodle 2012 Google ended the Olympics doodle interactive section though there were doodles till the closing ceremony. According to the reports , More than 1 billion played this 4 doodle in the series.

Though this was a static doodle in the series of 2012 Olympics, It had a specialty from all other doodles of the series. It was for the first Google came up with a doodle for Javelin. By chance the competition was on the day when Mars Curiosity Rover landed. So to include his event along with Javelin, Google included Rover as a image in the sky along with Javelin and player.

It’s on 2012 Google started interactive doodle for Olympic games. Before that Google have published many attractive doodle for the Olympics games held at different places.  Google Doodle to announce starting of winter Olympics 2010 was very attractive one though there was no animation in it. Doodle included every thing the symbolizes the specialty of occasion. In the doodle, Google logo is wrote with white color in the stadium of Olympics with symbol of Olympics in the left corner.

Google have also came up with doodles for Olympics when announcement of the places to host Olympic takes lace. In the in 2007, Google published a Sochi doodle 2014  in Russian homepage when the host country for 2014 winter Olympics was chosen as Russian. It is to take part in the happiness of Russian people Google published this announcement doodle picturing a skier and ski in the beautiful snow fallen mountains of Russia.

This was the first ever Olympic doodle, published by the search giant. It was a global doodle, to mark the hosting place  Google included the image of Kangaroo with Torch. Kangaroo, the national animal of Australia is placed at the place of Alphabet ‘e’ in the Google logo. This was the doodle which initiated the rest of series of Olympic doodle in Google history.

Google came up with series lining up to about 19 doodles in 2010 winter Olympics season. On February 14th, on valentines day Google came up a special doodle in a brave design to represent two events, ie Pairs skating and valentine day celebration. As both of it is related to couples Google pictured it bravely in the doodle with couples presenting Paris skating.

Now as the countdown for 2014 winter Olympics have already started we can wait for new doodles in the series of Olympics. 2014 winter Olympics starts from February 6th.
