Google will publish Andrew Barton “Banjo” Paterson’s 150th birthday Doodle on home page of Australia on 17th February, 2014. Barton Paterson was a famous Australian bush poet and author.
Within Barton Paterson’s birthday Google Doodle you can see horseback pursuit with white horse along with five different other horses. Actually it is the famous work of Barton Paterson, ‘The man from snowy river’.
Barton Peterson published the poem ‘The man from snowy river’ within an Australian magazine, Bulletin in the year 1890. The poem highlights the story of retaking of a racehorse by a horseback pursuit. The hero demands to capture his horse from a much difficult situation, where the horse playing with wild horses in sloppy ground.
“There was a moment at the station, for the word had passed around
That the colt from old regret had got away
And had joined the wild bush horses – he was worth a thousand pound
So all the cracks had gathered to fray
All the tried and noted riders from the stations near and far” – A small portion from the beginning of poem.
Many of his works focused for Australian life, mainly about rural areas of the country. Clancy of the overflow, old pardon son of reprieve and waltzing matilda are other famous work of Andrew Barton Paterson. Australian government honoured him on postage stamp and on $10 note.
