Google Doodle Marks 25th Anniversary of the first Monday Demonstration

Google Germany marks 25th Anniversary of the first Monday Demonstration on 4th September with a doodle. Revolution of Candles is the other name for this non violent protest against German Democratic Rule.

Google Doodle is beautifully designed with candles and logo presented as projecting from street tiles. Search page is listed clicking on the doodle. In German homepage of search giant this doodle was present for 24 hours.

First Monday Demonstration took place in Germany on September 4th, 1989 as the method for silent non violent protest against GDR. Protesters laid candles on the streets every Monday evening in Germany. Both people in East Germany and West Germany united for this Revolution of candles in evenings of Monday.

Though its a silent protest, it had huge impact over the country. The protest continued until 1990 March and ended when first multi party election took place which led to reunification of Germany.

Looking back to history, candles lights where lighten after this in the year 2000 as the protest against Iraq war, Crisis in Ukraine and for many other events. Marking this historic event took place 25 years before in Germany, Google presented the doodle.
