2004 Athens Olympics Games Google Doodles 2

2004 Athens Olympics Games was started with a fantastic opening ceremony which is held on August 13 at the Olympic Stadium in Maroussi, Greece. Google released a series of doodles as a part of 2004 Olympics Games. Here is the second part of doodles released by doodle for different competitions.

2004 Athens Olympic Games Soccer games was held during 11th August to 28th August. In the men’s category of event National U – 23 team is competed with the provision for playing 3 senior (above 23 year old) players in the squad.

Olympic Soccer Games are conducted in conjunction with Summer Olympic Games in every 4 years. Only the teams affiliated to FIFA are allowed to participate in the tournament in both men’s and women’s category. The venues for the matches are Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Olympic Stadium in Athens, Kaftanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki, Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion, Panthessaliko Stadium, Volos and Pampeloponnisiako Stadium in Patras. In men’s category of Football Games Argentina won the Gold and Paraguay and Italy won the Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s Football tournament United States, Brazil and Germany won the Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively.

Google released a special Google doodle as a part of Olympics Games Soccer Games on 20th August, 2004. Doodle pictured a goal keeper and football in the doodle as to show the Game for which the doodle is dedicated for.

2004 Athens Olympic Games Tennis matches were held at ten separate courts at the Olympic Tennis Centre. There were 4 events conducted as a category of doubles and singles for both men and women.

In men’s singles Nicolas Massu of Chili, Mardy Fish of United States and Fernando Gonzalez of Chile won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In men’s doubles Chile, Germany and Croatia won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s single Justine Henin – Hardenne of Chile, Amelie Mauresmo of France and Alicia Molik of Australia won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively.

In women’s doubles Li Ting and Sun Tiantian of China, Conchita Martínez and Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain and Paola Suárez and Patricia Tarabini of Argentina won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. Chile comes in the top position. The next positions were occupied by Belgium and China. The doodle is visualized very well with an angel giving ball to the player who goes to a hit.

In men’s singles Ryu Seung-Min of South Korea, Wang Hao of China and Wang Liqin of China won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In men’s doubles category Chen Qi and Ma Lin of China, Ko Lai Chak and Li Ching of Hong Kong and Michael Maze and Finn Tugwell of Denmark China won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s singles Zhang Yining of China, Kim Hyang-Mi of North Korea and Kim Kyung-Ah of South Korea won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s doubles category Wang Nan and Zhang Yining of China, Lee Eun-Sil and Seok Eun-Mi of South Korea and Guo Yue and Niu Jianfeng of China won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. The doodle released for this competition included the gam e playing between 2 players.

2004 Athens Olympic Games Synchronized Swimming were held at Olympic Aquatic Centre. There were 2 category of events for men and women, one is duet and another singles. Total 104 competitors participated for 2 Gold medals.

In duet category Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova of Russia (RUS), Miya Tachibana and Miho Takeda of Japan and Anna Kozlova, Alison Bartosik of United States won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In team event also Russia, Japan and United States won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. As in all doodles dedicated for Olympics this doodle also portrayed the event. Here instead of 2 o’s in the Google logo there is 2 swimmers who are participating the event. So the doodle is apt to portrait the event.

2004 Athens Olympic Games Hurdles events were held at the Athens Olympic Stadium. There were 110 m and 400 m hurdle categories for men and 100m and 400m hurdles categories for women.

In 400m Hurdles Felix Sanchez of Dominican Republic, Danny McFarlane of Jamaica and Naman Keïta of France won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In 110 m Hurdles Liu Xiang of China, Terrence Trammell of United States (USA) and Anier García of
Cuba (CUB) won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s 400 m Fani Chalkia of Greece, Ionela Târlea-Manolache of Romania and Tetyana Tereshchuk-Antipova of Ukraine won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively. In women’s 100 m Hurdles Joanna Hayes of United States, Olena Krasovska of Ukraine and Melissa Morrison of United States) won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively.
